LivABLE Environment Conference Re-cap

For all Your Kitchen and Bath Design Questions! We’ve got answers

Attending conferences in 2020, during a global pandemic, has proven to have some significant advantages! Last week the inaugural LivABLE Environment Conference went live with over 30 sessions, panels, and product presentations with attendees spanning the globe! The conference shifted to a virtual platform in August when it became clear that in-person events were just not in the cards this year. Honestly, I feel it worked out incredibly well as speakers from Denmark, UK and the USA were able to present.

If you have ever attended a business conference you are aware of the necessity to pick and choose the sessions or speakers you spend your time on, when you go virtual you can participate in EVERYTHING! At least that’s the way it is for LivABLE! With complete access to all the sessions, panel discussions, and product seminars for an additional two months you have time to watch each and every session (on-demand, in your own time frame). It becomes a bargain and worth every dime!

As a volunteer, I had the pleasure of moderating several information sessions and the speakers delivered! Inspiring and informative 30 minute presentations were packed full of information and thought-provoking concepts.

One of my biggest AH-HA moments was hearing how the design/renovation industry has more impact on the health and wellness of our clients than do doctors and health practitioners! As a kitchen and bath designer, I take this responsibility very seriously and continue to expand my knowledge and experience to guide my clients through their personal wellness journey. Improving homes, being mindful of the products specified, considering the waste and recycling is my responsibility to discuss with my team and my clients.

Did you know that the air in our homes can be 2-5 TIMES more toxic than the air outdoors! Some of the contributing factors include attached garages, cleaning products and chemicals used/stored in the home, VOC’s from new furnishings and materials brought into the home, outdoor pollution, mould/mildew, dust and other particulate matter, carbon monoxide and even radon.  A lot to think about! The health and wellbeing of you and your family can start with your designer and contractor!

If you would like to learn more about getting access to the conference sessions, tickets are still available for all the replays! Click HERE for more information.

I look forward to sharing more about wellness and how our homes impact this journey here and through our Podcast – Renovation Secrets. Keep well, until next time.
